Most soft-sealed ball valves use non-conductive PTFE materials. During medium flowing and ball core rotation, static charge accumulates continuously inside the valve cavity. In flammable gas, oil vapor and hydrogen medium environments, static spark may cause explosion accidents. Anti-static structure is a mandatory safety design for petrochemical valves. The valve anti-static system consists of static spring pins and conductive channels. It continuously conducts static electricity from the ball core, stem and valve body to the ground, eliminating static accumulation. Even under frequent switching and high-speed fluid scouring, no static spark will be generated inside the valve. Anti-static valves comply with API 6D and ISO safety standards, widely used in natural gas, LNG, gasoline, chemical solvent and hydrogen pipelines. Ordinary non-static valves are strictly prohibited in explosive hazardous areas. Understanding anti-static structure helps engineers select qualified explosion-proof valves and avoid hidden static safety risks in hazardous process systems.
