RF and RTJ are the two most common flange types for industrial valves. Improper flange selection is a frequent cause of high-pressure leakage in pipeline systems. RF flange (Raised Face) is the most common flat sealing type, using gaskets for sealing. It is suitable for medium and low pressure, normal temperature working conditions. Under ultra-high pressure and high temperature, ordinary RF gaskets are easy to deform and cause flange leakage. RTJ flange (Ring Type Joint) adopts metal ring gasket embedded in the flange groove. The metal ring is compressed and deformed to achieve rigid metal sealing. RTJ structure features high pressure resistance, high temperature resistance and anti-loosening performance. It is the standard sealing form for Class600, Class900, Class1500 high-pressure valves. For high-pressure gas, steam, hydrogen and petrochemical critical pipelines, RTJ flange is mandatory to prevent flange leakage under pressure fluctuation and thermal deformation.
